Steps to make Ground beef, potato and veggie casserole:
  1. rinse off potatoes, peel rinse again..slice into thin slices. (or you can cut two potatoes into small, thin chunks..I used my slap chop tool, and sliced one potato). Lay slices on bottom of casserole dish then toss chunks in evenly. If you sliced all three, just make a nice, even bed for the casserole.
  2. peel onion, cut end off, slice into thin pieces..or dice them up into small chunks. ( depends on how much of the onion taste you want)
  3. Throw a little butter in, enough to fill the bottom of the SMALL pan with liquid. Toss the onions in and lightly cook them…enough to give that tasteful glaze. You can do it on a low number setting, 4 or 5. Set those aside, keep them in the pan.
  4. Grab the one tomato, cut in half (put one half in a baggie and store in fridge, or you can use the whole tomato.) Dice those up nicely, set aside.
  5. break up the meat to make several patties. (enough to cover over the potatoes later…the potatoes will go in the pan first)
  6. grab a large pan and brown the meat (do not cook all the way!! It will finish cooking in the oven)
  7. You can add what ever seasonings you want. I used meat tenderizer, garlic salt and normal salt. Use however much you want, use your best judgment. :-)
  8. Preheat oven to 400°. You can choose when to preheat, just depends on how quickly yours heats up)
  9. You can use the onion juice, grease from the beef or just plain water… add enough water to casserole dish so the potatoes can use that water to cook. Don't worry, if you do it correct, it wont be a watery dish! The potatoes will soak up all the water while cooking.
  10. Put the beef patties over potatoes, shake garlic salt over the pan evenly. Don't add too much!
  11. Toss your veggies in evenly, then throw a dash of regular salt over the entire pan.
  12. You can choose to skip this step, make a foil ''tent'' over the top and pop it in the oven! Set the timer for 45 minutes, with some ovens it will be different in time…
  13. After 35-40 minutes, take dish out and cover with the cheese. You can, of course use however much you want.. Pop it back in oven WITHOUT foil! Wait another 10 or so minutes, until the cheese is nice and melted. Take out and enjoy!! :-) :-)
  14. MAKE SURE the potatoes are nice and soft! That means they're done. If they are still firm and difficult to poke a fork through…easily, with no effort! then throw back into the oven for however long it takes to cook thoroughly.
  15. You can use whatever veggies you would like. Next time I am adding fresh green beans. . Comment, let me know what you did differently. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get to the dish to take a picture before my boyfriend got to it :-). Next time I do this, I will add a picture!! :-) :-)
  16. *****This recipe was rewritten for my safekeeping. This was originally someone else's recipe :-)
  17. Ready to serve and ENJOY!
